SUPERVALU: Bringing Utmost Value to American Consumers

SUPERVALU is an American retail company. With headquarters in Eden Prairie in Minnesota, the company has been in business for more than a century and has established itself as the third-largest food retail company in the US. SUPERVALU traces its roots to 1926 when the Winston and Newell Company began, only taking on the name it has today in 1952. Today, SUPERVALU serves customers through over 3,400 owned, licensed, affiliated, and franchised stores across the US, carrying both national and private label brands to provide the best products around.

SUPERVALU was once a part of the Independent Grocers Alliance (IGA) and to this day supplies to many of the members of the IGA. It also operates under several retail banners, such as Cub Foods, Farm Fresh Food & Pharmacy, Hornbacher’s, Save-A-Lot, Shop ‘n Save, Shoppers Food & Pharmacy, and Supervalu Pharmacies. Some of the private labels used by SUPERVALU include Arctic Shores, Baby Basics, Carlita, Culinary Circle, Essential Everyday, Farm Fresh, Heritage, Max Velocity, Stone Ridge Creamery, SuperCrunch, and Wild Harvest Organic Foods.
