Atticus: Music-Inspired Streetwear

Harper Lee's novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird” has really influenced so many different industries, even seemingly far-out areas of interest such as retail and apparel. Inspired by the novel's hero, Atticus Finch, and in part by Herodes Atticus, Atticus is a clothing brand founded in Carlsbad, California by musicians Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge of pop band Blink 182. Bearing the logo of a bird lying on its back, the company is now based in Los Angeles and is known as the “original music inspired streetwear brand”.

Drawing its influences from music, Atticus focuses on individuality and is derisive of “labels”. Atticus sells casual wear, knit wear, denim, jackets and accessories for men and women. Aside from the clothing line, Atticus has served as the venue for the release of three “Dragging the Lake” compilation albums featuring popular bands such as Blink 182, New Found Glory, Jimmy Eat World and Death Cab for Cutie.
