IFP Energies
Nouvelles (IFPEN) is an innovation, research and training center focused on the
transportation, energy and environment sector. With the three major issues in
the 21st century – diversification of energy, management of water
resources, and climate change and its impact in the environment – IFPEN was
established to provide industry players with technologies that are sustainable,
efficient, clean and economical.
Through the
years, IFPEN has honed its world-class, first-rate expertise not only in fundamental research but
also in innovation and industrial research. IFPEN is funded by the French state
in partnership with international institutions that believe in the IFPEN’s
mandate.
IFPEN is
impressive in the way it has developed a cross-disciplinary team composed of
experts from several engineering disciplines who are recognized as specialists
in their own fields. IFPEN has provided its researchers with a highly technical
environment equipped with facilities and resources that would enable them to do
their research at the cutting edge of innovation.
The resulting
innovative technologies of IFPEN promote development in the fields of
eco-industry, energy and transportation. Consequently, jobs and wealth are
created. Innovations are developed by industries as industry players and IFPEN
have developed close partnerships. Whether in existing markets or in emerging markets,
IFPEN is able to create new companies or acquire the shares of companies with
potential through capital funds or direct acquisition. And as part of
collaborative agreements, IFPEN is supporting the development of SMIs and SMEs
through its legal and technical expertise.
To tackle the
rapid changes in the energy sector, IFPEN created the IFP Training and the IFP
School to provide industry players with technically qualified personnel to help
them take up the present and future challenges in technology, economy and
environment. IFP School produces close to 600 graduates annually while the IFP
Training caters to 15,000 employees from the energy sector each year to
increase their competitiveness.
