Zoomlion: Global Benchmark Heavy Machinery Company

LeGrand: Creating Electrical System Solutions that Make Modern Life Better

LeGrand is an industrial group that leads the world in the production of electrical installation systems and information networks. In 2011, this French company led the world in switches and sockets with a global market share of 20%, and cable management with a global market share f 15%. Seventy-five percent of LeGrand’s revenues are contributed by international operations.

The roots of LeGrand can be traced to a porcelain workshop located in Limoges, France. Originally, the company was founded to produce porcelain dishes. In 1904, Frédéric Legrand took over the company and gave it a new name.

Legrand partnered with a Limoges-based artisan named Jean Mondot in 1919. The partnership started producing electrical switches made of woodbox and porcelain.

Later, LeGrand diversified to electrical equipment production. At that time, porcelain was the best electrical insulation material because plastics were not yet available.

A fire broke into the LeGrand factory. After the company recovered from the fire, the company began to concentrate on producing electrical switches and sockets. New products were also produced such as circuit breakers and fuse holders. Cable management products were also produced, along emergency lighting systems.

LeGrand had 120 acquisitions 150,000 product lines, 70 bases, and operations n 180 countries.

Sany Group: Chinese Technology Beyond Limits



It just started as a small welding shop in 1989. Now, Sany Group has grown to be a global company that produces heavy equipment and machineries such as wind turbines, port machineries, road construction equipment, pile driving machineries, cranes, excavators and other concrete machineries. Sany Group was founded by Yuan Jinhua, Mao Zhongwu, Tang Xiuguo and Liang Wengen.
